Community. Common unity. Community is the act of seeking what brings us together. Each of us showing up with what we have, for the good of one another.
That is the commitment of the Homeless Resource Center. We work to create a space filled with resources, partners, and welcoming volunteers, a place worth coming to. At the same time, we invite our guests not just to exist here, but to take part in making this a safe and respectful space for the next person who walks through the door.
Common unity is not quid pro quo. It is not about self-interest. It is about paying attention to one another, filling each other’s tanks, and allowing people to come as they are.
Some days you may only have the capacity to receive, and that is okay. Other days, when your tank is fuller, you look for ways to add to those around you. The more we look after each other, the better we all are.
Haven’t visited yet? We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 2 to 6pm, and Wednesdays from 3 to 5pm. We would love to welcome you into our community.
