800 Neighbors and Counting

Over 800 unique people in our community have walked through our doors so far in 2026! That’s 800 neighbors. 800 stories. 800 people who deserve to be seen, known, and loved.

Some came in on the coldest days of the year looking for a warm place to sit. Some came hungry. Some came carrying more than any of us could imagine. And every single one of them has made this place what it is.

This year, LINK, Lawrence’s 41-year community meal program, became part of the HRC family. We now serve around 135 meals every service day, up 20% from last year. On one day in August, we served 152 people. Each plate is a small way of saying you matter here.

Around 25 guests have received a phone this year, thanks to 100 Good Women! It sounds simple, but a phone can mean a call back from an employer, a text from a case manager, or a chance to hear a loved one’s voice again.

Guests in our Job Empowerment Program have been out in the neighborhood picking up trash and caring for the streets we all share. Their work is quietly changing how people see one another.

We are honored to be a place where people can rest, eat, and be reminded that they belong. We don’t take lightly the trust our guests place in us.

To our volunteers, church partners, local businesses, donors, and more than 10 partner agencies who walk alongside us: thank you. You make this possible. You are the reason someone had a meal today, a place to charge their phone, or a friendly face who remembered their name.

As we head into the last season of 2026, our hearts are full. We’re looking forward to the relationships we’ll keep building and the neighbors we haven’t met yet.

If you’d like to be part of this story, serve with us or support this work. There’s a seat at the table for you too.
