“Dude, I need these reminders to keep hoping when hope is hard.”
I shared this with Antonio, and his response was everything: “Never give up hope!”
Antonio was in a rough spot for a good amount of time in our community. Stealing to survive, sleeping in places that humans should not have to sleep in, and continuously using substances.
But that is the past.
Today, Antonio has been sober for a year and a half, has a safe place to sleep, and has a steady job in construction. He just bought a truck, and he stopped by to encourage his friends, and those of us who work in this space alike!
“Never give up hope!” That is a reminder that all of us need!
